Government to vaccinate 14 m people SPC to buy 3.5 m vaccines from Britain

The government plans to vaccinate fourteen million people out of a total population of 21 million against the rampant and fast spreading Covid 19 virus.
Accordingly the government will enter into an indemnification agreement with Covax mechanism to expedite the vaccination under the Covax facility. The government will purchase ten million Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccines at a cost of US$52.5 million from the Serum Institute of India as a direct procurement.
The State Pharmaceutical Corporation will also enter into an agreement with British Astra Zeneca Institute to purchase 3.5 million vaccines for the Institute.
