May 18, 2021

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka has written to the Inspector General of Police calling for a report on the deaths of the two suspects while in Police Custody.
The HR commission requires the IGP to submit a report by the 30th of this month. The Commission has said that it poses a grave question on the administration of law in the country. The HRC has asked questions on the deaths of Mabulage Dinith Melan Mabula alias Uru Juwa and Dharmakerthi Tharaka PereraWijeskara alias Kosgoda Tharaka, from the IGP.
The Bar Association of Sri Lanka and various civic organisations condemned these deaths and said that these bore all the hallmarks of extrajudicial killings
