ICTA and Moratuwa University to trace missing files of the NMRA
August 30, 2021

Information and Communication Technology Agency and the University of Moratuwa will work together to recover the missing data of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority from the Sri Lanka Government cloud.
The NMRA uploaded many files of vital information and data through its online portal.
NMRA Chairman Dr Rasitha Wijewantha has reportedly said the Epic Technology Group that handled streamlining operations has said they could recover the missing files.
Union Leaders and Opposition members, including Parliamentarians, called it a “data scam” similar to the “bond scam” and requested state minister Channa Jayasumane to tell Parliament the circumstances that led to the data scam.
However, the NMRA assured the public that there would not be a shortage of essential medicinal drugs in the market.
