India, Sri Lanka to exchange three agreements during Rajnath Singh visit

India and Sri Lanka are scheduled to exchange three agreements during talks between visiting Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Wednesday, Foreign Affairs Minister Vijitha Herath said.

Singh, who arrived in Sri Lanka on Tuesday, is due to hold bilateral discussions with President Dissanayake in the morning.

He is also scheduled to meet senior officials of the Ministry of Defence and hold talks with Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya later in the day.

The Indian Defence Minister will attend a Bodhi Pooja at the Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo on Wednesday afternoon.

On Thursday morning, he is scheduled to visit the Seetha Amman Temple in Nuwara Eliya.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Singh’s visit includes a series of political, defence and cultural engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between Sri Lanka and India.
