Inland Revenue Department exceeds revenue target

The Inland Revenue Department has already exceeded its expected revenue target, Senior Deputy Commissioner J.T. Chandana said.

Speaking to the media, Chandana said the department was likely to collect about Rs. 100 billion more than its projected revenue target by the end of this year.

He said the department was expected to achieve 40% of its annual revenue target by 30 June, but had reached 46% by that date.

Chandana also said the deadline for income tax payments for the 2025/2026 year of assessment expires today, 30 September.
