Iranativu residents protest against burial of Covid 19 victims

Residents of Iranativu Island has launched a protest campaign against the government’s decision to allow the burial of Covid 19 victims in the area.
Iranativu Island is located in the Gulf of Mannar in the North.
The Cabinet this week decided to allow burials of Muslim victims of Covid 19 after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and several international organisations requested the government to respect religious rituals. A gazette notification to this effect was issued soon after the departure of the Pakistan Prime Minister from Sri Lanka
