President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed former commander of Sri Lanka Navy Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda as the new Governor of the North Western Province.
Karannagoda was sworn in as the new Governor before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa this morning.
The Governor post fell vacant vacant following the death of former Governor Raja Kollure who died due to COVID-19 infection on Tuesday (07).
