Lady Ridgeway Hospital urges parents to bring medical records amid dengue surge

The Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children in Colombo has urged parents and guardians to bring their children’s medical records when seeking treatment as the dengue outbreak places increasing pressure on the hospital.

Hospital Director Dr Pradeep Ratnasekara said the number of children arriving for treatment had risen sharply amid the current dengue outbreak.

He said the cooperation of parents and guardians would help medical staff provide prompt and efficient treatment despite severe congestion at the hospital.

The hospital asked parents to bring their child’s Personal Health Number or barcode card, Child Health Development Record or weight record book, records of any drug or food allergies, clinic books, and discharge or diagnosis cards.

The request applies to children brought to the hospital for treatment as well as scheduled clinic visits.

The hospital called for the fullest cooperation of the public.
