Millennium City Case against ASP Kulasiri Udugampola fixed for defence evidence

The Millennium City safe-house case filed against former police officer ASP Kulasiri Udugampola was today fixed for defence evidence by the Colombo High Court.

When the case came up before High Court Judge Adithya Patabendige, accused Kulasiri Udugampola made a dock statement regarding the incident. Further defence evidence is scheduled for June 23.

The Attorney General had filed indictments against the accused for raiding a safe house used by Army intelligence personnel at the Athurugiriya Millennium City housing scheme on January 2, 2002, and had publicised information regarding Army officials and their undercover operations.

The prosecution further alleged that information had been gathered in Colombo, Athurugiriya, Kandy, and Katugastota to endanger the country's national security.
