More guests will be allowed at weddings, the Government Information Department announced today, July 6th.   The press release states that this step has been taken as there have been no cases of COVID-19 reported for several weeks.

Accordingly, the maximum number of guests allowed, which includes the bridal party, band members and performing artists will be 300 or 50% of  the seating capacity of the venue. Either way, the maximum number allowed will be 300.  The new ruling comes into effect as of July 6th.

While the restriction on the number of guests has been increased, the release states that all other health guidelines such as being a meter apart from each other, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, must be observed at weddings.

According to the Health Promotion Bureau 149 Covid-19 patients are still seeking hospital assistance with over 1,900 patients having recovered and discharged since the outbreak.
