Namal Rajapaksa remanded until 29 September in SriLankan Airlines bribery case

Colombo Magistrate’s Court has further remanded MP Namal Rajapaksa until 29 September over allegations that he received a Rs. 100 million bribe linked to the purchase of Airbus aircraft for SriLankan Airlines.
The court said its order on Rajapaksa’s bail application would also be delivered on 29 September.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama issued the order after considering submissions by Deputy Solicitor General Janaka Bandara, appearing for the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, and President’s Counsel Shavindra Fernando, representing Rajapaksa.
