A coordinated intelligence operation conducted by the State Intelligence Service and Sri Lanka Navy has led to the apprehension of a local multiday fishing trawler carrying a large consignment of narcotics and six suspects. The apprehension was made by SLNS Vijayabahu in the high seas south of Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, the drug-carrying vessel and suspects are expected to be brought to the port of Colombo today, May 18, for onward action.
