Of concern to many is the three-week long prorogation of Parliament, apparently as a ruse by the President and the Prime Minister to lure more Parliamentarians to their side.

The UNP showed its strength on Tuesday, October 30, when a mammoth crowd marched to Temple Trees.  The SLFP-SLPP expected to stage protest next week.  Political parties may show their muscle on the streets, but it will be in Parliament, that Ranil Wickremesinghe and Mahinda Rajapaksa will be called  upon to display their power. It will also show the nation whether their representatives in Parliament are fickle or are faithful to their voters.
