Opposition submits no-confidence motion against Justice Minister

Opposition MPs on Tuesday (21) submitted a no-confidence motion against Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara to Speaker Dr Jagath Wickramaratne, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Gayantha Karunatilleka said.

SJB MP Ajith P. Perera accused the minister of neglecting his responsibilities.

The Opposition moved the motion over what it described as the minister’s failure to ensure accountability for the deaths of prison officers and inmates during unrest at Negombo Prison.
