Organic Fertilizer to be imported

The Cabinet of Ministers have approved the Importation of Organic Fertilizers and Natural Minerals and Chelated Plant Nutrients for the Maha Season 2021 /2022. According to the decision approval has been given on the 31 st of May to import the volumes of fertilizer required for the Maha season 2021/2022 which could not be fulfilled from local organic fertilizer production by following the competitive procurement procedure. Therefore, international competitive bids have been invited for Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited and Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Company Limited to procure the required stocks of fertilizer. The recommendations of the Special Procurement Committee appointed have been vetted and approved by the Cabinet with approval to import the required amount.
