Over 4,300 affected by heavy rains in Sri Lanka, four dead

A total of 4,360 people from 1,190 families have been affected by heavy rains in Sri Lanka, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) said on Sunday.
The affected people were reported from 125 divisional secretariat areas across 17 districts.
Four people have died due to heavy rains, while eight others have been injured and one person remains missing, according to the DMC.
The adverse weather has also damaged 617 houses.
Meanwhile, drought has affected 164,348 people from 49,796 families across 33 divisional secretariat areas in 12 districts.
The DMC said drinking water is being distributed to 136,569 people affected by the dry conditions.
