September 21, 2023

The Secretary to the President has once again informed the Speaker in a letter that the secret evidence about the Easter Sunday attacks cannot be exposed to the public in order to protect the privacy of the individuals who gave evidence, and the information can only be accessed by the parliamentarians under the supervision of the Parliamentary Secretary General.
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena informed the house (21) that the President's Secretary made this announcement in a letter dated September 12.
The speaker said that certain electronic and printed media are spreading false information regarding the non-opening of the confidential documents of the Presidential Commission report on the Easter Sunday attack to the public.
