Petroleum price increase in the offing?

Petroleum prices are likely to rise, following the decision of the Indian Oil Company to raise the price of a litre of petrol and diesel by five rupees.
Petroleum Corporation officials said that it would be inevitable to go along without a proper price increase. An increase of five rupees will not be sufficient to run the CPC, without losses they pointed out.
However, the line Minister ruled out any possibility of increasing the prices of fuel now.
