Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has directed the Minister in charge of Law and Order not to summon journalists and Editors to the CID to record statements on the garlic scam. Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardene has complained to the CID regarding newspaper articles and editorials based on an interview given by an executive director who left the Consumer Affairs Authority owing to the pressure exerted on him over many matters including, the garlic scam.
