President says Sri Lanka capable of handling its affairs

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has emphatically stated that the country would not give in to pressure exerted by the UNHRC while blaming the previous government for betraying the country by co-sponsoring the UNHRC resolution.
He made this observation while addressing a meeting in Pitabddera in the Matara district over the weekend.
He said that there is pressure from several countries after the current government withdrew from the co-sponsorship.
While stating that the country need not get involved in the power struggle of the bigger nations in the Indian Ocean said that Sri Lanka is not shaken by the resolution against it by several countries.
