The Czech Republic has donated three emus and four ring-tailed lemurs to Sri Lanka under an animal exchange programme.
They were brought to the Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday night. These "Emu" birds, which are about 4 months old, are flightless birds native to Australia. The ring-tailed lemur is an endangered animal species native to Madagascar. The public can see them at Pinnawala and Wagolla Zoos after they have been quarantined for one month.
