SJB Trade union leader released on bail

SJB Trade Union Leader of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, Ananada Palitha who was arrested for allegedly making misleading statements, was released on bail by Colombo Additional Magistrate Lochana Abeywicrama.

Though the CID objected on the ground that he would once again mislead the people by making false claims, the Magistrate said, the Court was unable to restrict individuals rights, enshrined in the constitution, such as the freedom of speech and expression
