Sputnik V vaccines to be purchased

  The Cabinet has approved the purchase of seven million Sputnik V Covid 19 vaccines at a cost of 69.65 US$. Sri Lanka plans to vaccinate 14 million people and five million are to be vaccinated as a first step. Since the National Medicinal Regulatory authority has approved sputnik V for emergency use the government has placed an order to purchase seven million vaccines of the Russian produced Sputnik V
