Sri Lanka reports 18 percent weekly drop in dengue cases

Sri Lanka recorded an approximately 18 percent decline in dengue cases compared with the previous week, the National Dengue Control Unit said.
The country has reported 85,364 dengue cases and 62 deaths so far.
The highest numbers of infections continue to be reported from the Gampaha, Colombo and Kandy districts.
The unit has also instructed authorities to carry out mosquito-control programs at schools being used as examination centers before the Grade Five Scholarship Examination and the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level Examination.
