Sri Lankan billionaire to contest for California GovernorSri Lankan born Billionaire Chamath Palihapitiya is to contest for Governor of California. Media reports said Chamath Palihapitiya, billionaire investor and CEO of venture capital firm Social Capital, announced about his intentions to run for California governor on Tuesday,Palihapitiya an Engineer by Profession Palihapitiya joined the Face Book in 2007 as an executive and later founded his own company. The next race for the Governor will be in 2022 and the present Governor Gavin Newsom has not yet announced his intentions to run again.
