Sri Lanka’s Parliament faces a risk of cyberattacks targeting its digital systems, according to its 2025 Annual Performance Report.

The report said the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team assessed Parliament’s information systems and cybersecurity during the review period.

Of the 56 cybersecurity areas examined, 46 were classified as high risk.

The assessment warned that attackers could gain unauthorised access to digital systems, steal sensitive information, disrupt parliamentary operations or deface official websites.

Such incidents could also damage Parliament’s reputation, the report said.

The audit recommended immediate action to address the identified vulnerabilities and strengthen the institution’s cybersecurity safeguards.
