Staff Sergeant K.I.S. Keerthirathna, who set off on a foot expedition to join the world records on September 5, reached his destination, Dondra, yesterday morning (16) as scheduled, covering 580.16 km in distance.
Keerthirathna completed his foot expedition within 12 days after crossing Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Medawachchiya, Anuradhapura, Kurunegala, Colombo, Aluthgama, Galle, and Matara before he reached Dondra to be received with a warm reception.
Representative members of the Serendib World Records Committee confirmed his admission to Serendib World Records and handed over his certificate on his completion of the expedition.
