A female Police sergeant who allegedly abducted a 16-year-old student of Kamburupitiya Maha Vidyalaya while the boy was on his way home after school had threatened and assaulted him, forcing him to end his love affair with her daughter.
The female police officer concerned was later arrested by the police.
The officer who was attached to the Matara Police Station was released on two sureties of Rs. 500,000 each after being produced in court.
The student had received treatment from the Kamburupitiya Base Hospital after the alleged assault.
The female officer had allegedly told the student she was going to meet his father and had taken him to a road near the Kamburupitiya CWE outlet, where she then allegedly assaulted him while demanding to end his relationship with her daughter.
