Earlier this year in Kandy, anti-Muslim riots were sparked off following an accident which involved Sinhala and Muslim drivers.  It takes just a little bit of prodding to spark race riots, yet    we turn a blind eye to the many other atrocities such as rape and paedophilia, especially if the perpetrator is not from a minority community.
Photographs from around the country of family members waiting, praying and protesting in vain.  All they want to know is what befell their loved ones. Many went missing during the JVP uprising and the long-drawn out war between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and the government.  Those who have disappeared belong to all ethnicities and a variety of professions.
