The government of Tamil Nadu has announced a total lock down from
May 10 to 24 t0 curb the spread of Covid19 TheTimes of India reported.
Fresh Covid-19 cases reported in a day in Tamil Nadu crossed the 25,000-mark on Friday as the state reported 26,465 new cases, pushing active infections to 1.35 lakh.
The 197 deaths reported on Friday took the cumulative toll to 15,171. Cases tally for the state is 13.23 lakh. The average number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Chennai has increased rapidly in the past two months.
