The US ambassador meets with Miss California Teen

The US ambassador in Colombo, Julie Chung, met today with Miss California Teen, Taliya Peiris, the first Sri Lankan-American to wear the crown. The ambassador said that Talia is using her platform to build ties between the United States and Sri Lanka in the arts and well beyond. "She inspired young people at our American Centre, and I will be rooting for her to win Miss Teen America this fall", Chung said.
