West will support our decision to switch over to organic farming -President

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa told Ministers last evening that several Western countries such as Germany have pledged to help Sri Lanka, Inits endeavour to introduce organic fertilizer for farming. He said these countries are keen to make it a reality in Sri Lanka since it would have a negative effect on their research on organic farming. The President directed the Ministers to attend to the needs of the farmers and sort out their issues, also told them that there are politically instigated protests in the country. The President last week announced that he would not reverse his decision to introduce organic farming when he had an audience with the Prelate of the Asgiriya Chapter recently.
