Western countries are reluctant to invest in Sri Lanka because fraud and corruption are rampant, says Anurdha Yahamapath

Outgoing Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath says that some Western countries do not want to invest in our country as they know that fraud and corruption are rampant in the country.

"They know that fraud and corruption take place when they come to invest here", she said.

She said that her office handed over a file containing information about the resources available in the province when members of the diplomatic community or foreign dignitaries visited the province.

She said that she would not have been able to promote unity among the Sinhala and Tamil Muslim communities if she had become a politician.
