When red meets saffron: JVP-BJP rendezvous

A five-member delegation of JVP will be in India for a five-day visit from September 27 to October 1, 2026. The delegation is led by JVP general secretary Tilvin Silva, said a report published by The Hindu on Sunday (28).

Apart from Silva, the JVP’s central committee member Chandrika Adikari, Member of Parliament Aboobucker Athambawa, district committee member Kabilan Suntharamoorthy, and member of international department Kalpana Madhubhashini, will be part of the delegation.

In a statement, the in-charge of BJP’s foreign affairs department Vijay Chauthaiwale, said the delegation would meet BJP national president Nitin Nabin, national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santhosh, and other senior BJP leaders. They will also interact with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The delegation will meet leaders of various BJP morchas and departments at the BJP headquarters, visit Parliament, and the BJP’s Delhi State office.
“The visit aims to strengthen BJP-JVP engagement, facilitate the exchange of organisational experiences and further deepen ties between the two political parties,” Chauthaiwale said.
