Tusker ‘Agbo’ has been found safe and in good health in the Nachchaduwa Tank Reserve following a joint search operation by wildlife officials and the Army.
The Environment Ministry said the elephant was located after several days of search efforts prompted by reports that it may have sustained injuries.
Wildlife Range Officer Buddhika Atukorala, in charge of the area, confirmed that Agbo was in good physical condition when found.
Wildlife officials said the tusker is currently roaming freely within the Nachchaduwa Tank Reserve and faces no immediate danger.
