India and Russia are planning to further strengthen bilateral ties with a trade agreement. New Delhi and Moscow are in talks over a free trade agreement. India’s external affairs minister S. Jaishankar said that the two sides are discussing an ‘advance agreement’ on a trade treaty that would bring a guarantee of bilateral investment. Ties with India and Russia have been expanding since the war in Ukraine began. Last month, Russia replaced Iraq to be India’s top supplier of crude.
