Armed forces are under specific orders to shoot on sight for looting and causing harm to the lives of individuals.

The order comes in the wake of clashes in Negombo after setting ablaze a hotel allegedly belonging to a politician and looting.

In the meantime, three people sustained injuries in a shooting incident in Rathgama, near the house of the Rathgama Preadeshiya Sabbah.

So far, eight people have reportedly been killed in various parts of the country following the incidents at the Galle Face Green yesterday, where pro-government hooligans attacked unarmed peaceful protestors.
