Buddhist prelates to shun politicians

The prelate of the Malwatte Chapter has shut out all the politicians who make it a point to visit the Prelates and temples periodically for their blessings and advice. The Most Ven Thibbatuwawe Shidartha Sumangalaabdhana Mahanayake thero was the first prelate to initiate action against politicians after the government failed to heed their advice. The prelates suggested forming an interim government to surmount the present crisis. Following the government's decision to ignore the suggestion of the prelates have decided to shun politicians deny audiences to them, and would not receive any gifts from the politicians.
