Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis observed that the court would not issue an order in terms of Section 32 of the Code of Criminal Procedure Act since the prosecution has not concluded investigations into the incident.
A group of lawyers led by President’s Counsel Rienzie Arseculeratne and Udara Muhandiramge, appearing for the complainant, sought an order for the arrest of State Minister Diana Gamage for committing offences under the Immigrants and Emigrants Act.
