CID arrests Duminda Silva following the SC ruling.

The Criminal Investigation Department arrested Former ParliamentarianDuminda Silva while receiving treatment at the Jayawardhana Pura Hospital. The Supreme Court yesterday suspended the operation of the Presidential pardon granted by the President after perusing three FR petitions filed by Hirunika Premachandra, daughter of murder victim Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra and Mrs Premachandra and another. The Supreme Court also allowed leave to proceed with the matter and fixed the trial in September. The Supreme Court bench comprised Justice Preethi Padman Surasena, Justice Yasantha Kodagoda and Justice Achala Wengappuli.
