Court issues Enjoining Order preventing CEB Engineers' Trade Union action

The Colombo District Court today issued an enjoining order preventing the Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers Union, its office bearers and its members from preventing the supply of electricity to the general public as a result of engaging in any strike or trade union action.
Colombo District Court Judge Purnima Paranagamage made this order pursuant to a plaint filed by Ceylon Electricity Board.
The Colombo District Court issued notices on defendants including the office bearers of the Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers Union returnable on the 22nd of June 2022.
Romesh DeSilva PC with Counsel Ruwantha Coorayl and Naamiq Nafath instructed by Sanath Wijewardane appeared for the Plaintiff.
