Fort Magistrate directs IGP to investigate the delay in depositing under Court Custody money found at the President's House.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate has issued an order directing the IGP to conduct a comprehensive investigation regarding the failure of Fort Police to keep Rs. 17.85 Million in cash recovered from the President's House under judicial custody.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage observed that there is reasonable doubt regarding the conduct of the Fort Police OIC for his failure to hand over the recovered money to judicial custody.
However, the Fort Police today handed over the recovered money to the court custody following a court order.
On July 28, Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage ordered the Fort police OIC to the sum of Rs. 17.8 Million recovered by protesters from the President's House on July 9.
