Fuel supplies rationed

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has rationed the issue of fuel to motor vehicles. Accordingly, motorcycles are eligible for Rs 1000 worth of petrol while the three-wheelers can pump up to Rs 1500worth of petrol. Motorcars could go up to Rs 5000 worth of petrol at a time. It is the first time the CPC rationed oil supplies to the consumers. However, this will not apply to heavy vehicles such as buses and lorries.
