Gotabaya says all the expenses incurred overseas are borne by him.

The former Ambassador to Moscow, Udayanga Weeratunga, who arrived at the criminal investigations department in connection with the MIG fighter jet deal that created a controversy in Sri Lanka, told reporters the deposed President, Gotabaya Rajapksa, is likely to arrive in Sri Lanka on August 24.
Meanwhile, former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa from Bangkok denied media reports that the government paid for his expenses outside Sri Lanka.
He said all the expenses were borne by him out of his personal funds. However, the Cabinet spokesman on Monday told reporters that the expenses were paid by the government, including the former President's visit to Bangkok from Singapore.
