IUSF convener Wasntha Mudalige is held in detention.

Three university students, including the convener of the Inter-University Students Federation, have been held by the police under detention orders issued yesterday. The Police Media Division stated that Ven. Galvewa Siridhamma Thero and Hashantha Jeevantha Gunathilaka, who have been arrested, are also to be detained and investigated under detention orders related to the events that have taken place in the Galle Face struggle since April 9th. At least 19 protestors have been arrested by the police during the protest held by the Inter-University Student Union in Colombo on Thursday evening. That is due to being members of an unlawful assembly. The police said that the suspects were arrested by the Cinnamon Gardens Slave Island, Borella Police Stations and the Kelaniya Division Criminal Investigation Bureau. Meanwhile, the Fort Magistrate's Court ordered the release of 16 of the 19 arrested suspects on bail on Friday evening.
