General Sri Lanka Teachers Union Joseph Stalin, held in remand custody for allegedly violating a court order, was today given bail by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.
Accordingly, trade union leader Stalin was released on two sureties of Rs.500,000 by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage.
Initially, Stalin had been remanded till August 12 by the Magistrate’s Court for allegedly violating a court order while engaged in a protest at Bank of Ceylon Mawatha last May 28.
