Kaduwela Magistrate rejects police applications to prevent protests.

The Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court has rejected an application by the Thalangama Police to prevent protests near the Parliament complex this week.

The application was to prevent protests planned for Thursday and Friday. Meanwhile, Police arrested 12 protesters while engaging in a peaceful demonstration in front of the Parliament entry road today. The Police said the arrests were due to the erratic behaviour of the protesters who were blocking the Parliament entry road near the Polduwa Junction and hooting at the Parliamentarians.
