The magistrate orders bail for Damitha, Stalin, and Ratta .

Eight protesters, including popular actress Damitha Abeyratne, General Secretary of Ceylon Teachers' Union Joseph Stalin and youth activist Rathindu Senaratne alias "Ratta", were today ordered to be released on bail after appearing before Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court.
On a previous occasion, these civil society activists were noticed to appear before the court for allegedly obstructing police officers from carrying out their duty while engaging in a protest blocking the main entrance to the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court on May 30.
Each suspect was ordered to be released on surety bail by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage. A further magisterial inquiry has been fixed for November 28. The suspects were ordered to appear before Slave Island Police Station on Wednesday (10).
President's Counsel Upul Jayasuriya appeared for the suspects.
