Party leaders' meeting is in progress as most ministers opted to resign.

Most of the Ministers have decided to tender their resignation, paving the way for an interim government with the participation of all parties represented in Parliament.
Ministers Susil Premajayantha and Wijedasa Liyanage said they participated in a meeting convened at the Prime Minister's office and decided to make way for the new interim government.
Meanwhile, a party leaders' meeting is in progress at the Parliamentary complex with the participation of all party leaders, including the Prime Minister.
The meeting is in progress under the chairmanship of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene.
