Police arrested three suspects from Mt.Lavina and Galle in connection with setting fire to the Prime Minister’s private residence at the fifth lane off Thurstan Road.
An unknown gang set fire to the private residence of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Saturday night(9th).
The Prime Minister had a library with a considerable collection of rare books, according to Informed sources.
Protestors said they were not involved but suspicious of a conspiracy behind the incident.
One activist said the assailants were trying to accuse the Galle Face strugglers of this heinous crime.
The Galle Face Green strugglers also wanted the truth behind the arson incident revealed and called upon the Police to launch a proper investigation into the matter.
The Bar association of Sri Lanka has condemned the incident.
